Sponsor a Girl
We created a scholarship fund to pay for the school fees of the girls we work with. It costs $150 to pay for a student's school fees for an entire year. This will provide for a girl's tuition, uniforms, books, and meals. So we are asking our friends and "friends of friends" to help get these children through school. This might seem like a negligible amount, but for the average Gambian who makes about $1.00 per day, such a scholarship will make a huge difference. Sponsors will be kept abreast with the girls’ progress and well-being through letters from the girls, pictures, and report cards.
We are also putting the finishing touches on the library we built last summer by adding electricity, a ceiling and a floor, additional shelving and books, a bathroom, and a community room. So adding a $50 donation to the scholarship would help us educate our girls and improve what has become a vital center of learning in Lamin Village.
