In order to provide our service-learning programs for our Gambian students, Starfish International relies on fundraisers. Fundraisers have been initiated by adults and by youth, by individual supporters and by educational institutions. A Cultural Extravaganza
Starfish International will be holding two fundraising extravaganzas at Manlius Pebble Hill (MPH) in Dewitt, New York. Come experience the spirit of west Africa through Gambian fashion, music, dance, and artwork. The event will raise money to support the Gambian Educational Program. The event will take place on Saturday March 27th and Sunday March 28th at 6:00pm at MPH's Coville Theater. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Red Grammer Concert
Starfish International would like to recognize and thank Grammy-nominated children's muscian Red Grammer for holding two fundraising performances at Manlius Pebble Hill (MPH) in Dewitt, New York. The concerts raised $1,952.73 for the Gambian Educational Program. We'd like to thank MPH for hosting the concerts. We'd also like to recognize a heart-felt donation from 7 year-old Samantha Romano. She donated all of the money in her piggy bank for the Gambian girls. She is a shining star!

Manlius Pebble Hill Dress-Down Day
Starfish International would like to recognize and thank student Manyima Sarr and the fabulous community of Manlius Pebble Hill (MPH) in Dewitt, New York for raising over $845.00 to go towards paying for the books collected by the Fawn Hollow community to be shipped toThe Gambia. MPH students (and their parents) donated money during their monthly "Dress-Down Day" in which the students are encouraged to donate to a charity in exchange for the opportunity to dress casually.

Fawn Hollow Book Drive
Starfish International would like to recognize and thank Dawn Fried and the wonderful community of Fawn Hollow in Monroe, Connecticut for providing books for a Reading Room to be established in The Gambia during the summer of 2009. Dawn conducted a book drive at the Fawn Hollow Elementary School and collected over 2000 books!
